Need to Get Word Out About Notify? Here Are Six Tips.
Many of you have asked for suggestions for getting all parents connected through eChalk Notify during our current emergency closures. Below are our top tips for our eChalk Notify users.
Notify is a great way to keep families informed of rapidly changing events during the current COVID-19 emergency. All families need to do is download the free Notify App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and input your school’s Join Code. Once they do that, any alerts you post to your eChalk website will be sent directly to their smartphone.
Six Ways to Spread the Word About eChalk Notify
Post it: Make information about eChalk Notify, including your school Join Code, prominent on your website. You can put this in an Emergency Alert, add it to a Feed Post, and/or create a static Notify text block at the top of your home page. Check out an example here!
Use the widget: Use the eChalk Notify Slide Out Widget on your homepage. This widget displays as an unobtrusive tab on the side of your homepage and gives parents instructions for downloading Notify.
Email: Email the eChalk Notify Alert code to your students, staff and parents. You can find an email template you can use here.
Send it with homework or Free Lunch pickup: Send the Notify information and Join Code out via the same channels you are using to get daily homework and other information out to families. This could include sending it through your LMS or Google Classroom or distributing with homework packets (if students are picking up physical packets) or meals.
Social Media: Send the information out via social media channels and add it to your social media bio or description. Suggested language: “Get the latest alerts from our school with the eChalk Notify App. Use school code XXXXX."
Mail: Postcards can be printed and mailed fairly inexpensively. Some printers will also handle mailing for you.
